Morning Ritual -AKA- Goddess time

With yesterday being Beltaine I though this would be a great time to talk about "Me" time. I usually get mine time early in the morning before Willow wakes up. An ideal morning starts at about 5am with Zumba or my hula hoop. I have been trying to work out for an hour each morning. Then I have my protein shake , coffee and check out my face book page. After I am informed of what is going on in my friends lives I go out and feed the animals. I don't love this so much in the winter but the rest of the time it's so very peaceful. Updating my blog has become part of my morning time and I hope to keep it current. With the weather getting warmer I will probably replace zumba with morning walks and tending the garden. I find that if I am able to get my "me" time in the rest of my day just works better. Here on While Tangerine Dreams is a post she wrote on her goddess time. No matter when you do it where in the morning or some other time make sure t...

Lavender Eye Pillows

Image
Ah relaxation, who doesn't crave it? A friend of mine said to me the other day, "we are an exhausted culture and are always looking something that promises relaxation" So here is my contribution to relaxation. These pillows can be heated or cooled as needed. Just pop them in the microwave or freezer for a bit. Don't use them hot on your eyes, they don't like that. A cool pillow will not only help with sleep but reduce puffiness and dark circles. I used scraps of fabric I had in cotton, velor, and silk. Any fabric will really work for this project. I filled mine with rice and a couple of drops of lavender oil, but you can use flax seed, lavender flowers or chamomile also. Here is a link so you can make your own eye pillow. Lets try to relax a bit today.

Girl Friends and Chick Flicks

This weekend a couple of friends and I went to Dubuque. It is our big city :), There is a Starbucks, Borders and Target lol. It is about 40 miles to Dubuque so we don't go that often. This outing had been planned for over 2 months, due to family and work we could never find a day that worked for all of us. We left the kids at home and ventured out about noon. I even put on makeup lol. All of us had lists of things we needed to get so off to the stores we went. It was stange and wonderful to be able to brouse the racks of clothes and try a couple of things on. After that we got some lunch. It was still early and this doesn't happen all the time we wanted it to last. The movie Theater was in the area, we checked out the times. Mama Mia was play shortly. This was on the list of movies to see from a while back. So we went. It was wonderful, so funny you laugh out loud. I don't know why it got such bad reveiws. Meryl Streep is great!! the whole cast is delightful...
