I belong bead group called Fire Divas. Lampworkers who believe in supporting each other and promoting online sales.  We sell on Etsy, Art Fire and 1000 markets, currently I only sell on Etsy.  You can find Fire Divas by putting "fire divas" in the search of these sites.  Most of us also have blogs or web site where we also sell items.  Here are a couple of Fire Divas blogs I think you will really like. This is a late update,  and it won't be all the wonderful lol.  I had printer problems that took up most of the morning.  Then I got stuck in the driveway/road again !! I did get three beads cored today, YEAH! me.  Check back tomorrow for a more interesting post :P

It has been a whole month since I have been able to get back to this :(  We have had much snow here,  I am sure when it warms up we will be able to do this more regularly.  The second creative session of the year was last night, it was on resin.  I won't go into that much here except to say, this could be very dangerious lol.  The last creative session was on soldered glass pendants.  I finally finished all of my pendants and took a picture.  I have some links for supplies and ideas in the January post,  here it is Soldered Pendants .

Well I finished this very long "book".  I am not going to give away any of the plot, I will say that this is not for the faint of heart.  You will have much to think about when you finish this one.  Off to find something alittle less heavy for my next one.

I am working on some unfinished projects I have in the studio before the snow starts here - again!  We are expecting about 7" or more in the next day or two.  I hope to get pictures up tomorrow, check back then.

ok nothing creative got done today.  I need to update my vent system for my torch.  We went to Dubuque, which is an all day thing.  I hope to be back to bead making early next week.  I have a ton of projects that I never seem to get to, so this is good in a way.  I may be caught up yet!

I am a list making and today I had a long list of things I wanted to get done.  I ran out of oxygen yesterday and won't beable to make beads until Friday.  This is a good thing, as it let me feel free to work on other things besides beads.  Since I make beads for a living I feel like I should be out there when ever I can be.  I have about 12 different jewelry projects that I want to get too.  One of them is bead coring, think of pandora bracelets.  Well that didn't go very well, I split one core and broke two beads.  I have heard there is a learning curve with this :(  I gave up on this after that.  I will give it a try next week.  I had wanted to take some pictures and list to Etsy but that didn't happen.  On a bright note I did get to color my hair, paint my nails and do the touch ups on the paint in the kitchen.  Lets hope I get a couple more things crossed off my list tomorrow. 

I didn't enter the Vintaj design challange this month.  You can only win two times and this theme just didn't grab me.  My friend Betsy did enter and came up with a wonderful design.  So if you have a moment go Here and vote for number 8.  Thanks have a great day I am off to the studio.

I am not a Stephen King fan really so I am kinda surprized that I like this book so far.  My BIL Derrick was reading it and said he liked it so I decided to give it a try.  This book is really really long, I am only about 1/4 of the way through it so far.  Here is a link to the book on Amazon. 

I had the wonderful opportunity to melt glass with other glass artists today.  I learn alot and can't wait to get to my studio tomorrow and make new things.

I used the random number generator and the comment number picked was (12)  ladynoble said... girl, you know i recycle! i am to the point where i get almost mad that i feel so guilty about even thinking about throwing recyclables away! :) i sort and sort, and pile and stash all the recycling for two weeks, and then when the garbage men pick it up they just dump it all together in the same truck. despite all the work and anxiety it is so worth it, all i need now is one of those recycle t-shirts! p.s. as far as recycling "art" stuff, i am a firm believer in keeping all my creative scraps for future projects. Yes the taxes are done YEAH! but no pictures today.  It has stopped snowing, so I was able to make it over to the studio this evening.  I have been working on some new stuff, I just love  and hope you will too.  We are expecting record cold weather tomorrow.  Spring can come anytime now :)  Have a great night.

This is my world today,  no getting to the studio with all the snow.  I may get a chance to take some pictures, but the taxes are going to get done first.  I am pretty good about being organized during the year so it's not going to be so bad.  Do forget to enter the give away for the recycled bracelet.  Check back tomorrow for new beads.

Along with my passion for beads, jewelry and green living I have a great love of healthy living.  Exercise is a big part of that for me.  One of the ways I get my exercise in is with Hoopnotica .  I am sure most of you remember hula hooping when you where a kid,  well this ain't your mamas hula hoop.  It is a great workout and it is fun.  Check out this site, there are also alot of video's on you tube.  This is one of my favorite video's.  SaFire is a wonderful hooper.  If you are looking for fun and sexy way to work out this is for you.

I have been working in boro glass this week.  I love this glass but don't usually get time to work with it.  Most of the beads I sell to Vintaj and in my Etsy store are soft glass .  One of the cool things about boro glass is that you don't know what you are going to get until you open the kiln.  Here is a some information on Boro glass. These are two of the hardest things to do when you have your own business.  Being an artist it makes it even harder :)  Vintaj has a great blog post here on doing just this.  Vintaj is great site for "vintage" jewelry findings,  you can find wonderful ideas for jewelry, scrapbooking and altered art in the gallery pages.  Their blog has a contest each month, you can win free Vintaj product.  Be sure to bookmark the site and check back often , they update a couple of times a day!!
